About Us
AJ’s Harbor for Heroes was created from a Navy wife watching her husband fight through the VA disability claims process, only to be knocked off course again and again by the VA Disability process.
That experience made one thing clear: veterans deserve better support when navigating a system that can feel impossible to face alone.
This mission is personal.
Our founder comes from a military family and has seen firsthand how overwhelming, frustrating, and discouraging the claims process can be. As the wife of a Navy veteran, the daughter of an Air Force veteran, and the sister of Navy and Army veterans, service is not something we honor from the sidelines — it is woven into our family.
Like many families, we first looked for help through the usual channels. But too often, veterans are given vague answers, pushed from one place to another, delayed for months, or left feeling like they have to figure out the government chaos alone. Then, when a denial comes back, it can feel like the system is saying, “you’re fine,” even when the veteran knows they are not.
That is where too many veterans give up.
AJ’s Harbor for Heroes was built for that moment.
We believe veterans should have access to guidance that is clear, honest, and structured. We believe they should understand what is being filed, why it matters, and what steps come next. Most of all, we believe every veteran deserves a safe harbor — a place to regroup, get organized, ask questions, and move forward with someone in their corner.
Our purpose is not to make promises or offer shortcuts. Our purpose is to help veterans better understand the process, build stronger claims, and advocate for themselves with confidence.
Because no veteran should feel forgotten by the system meant to honor their service.
